As part of the FLI College Program, Future Institute held its FLI College Program workshop, "Managing Your Online Brand," on March 25, 2025. Our two annual workshops—hosted each Fall and Spring—are designed to provide ongoing support and insight for all FLI Coolege program participants.

Susie Frausto is the Marketing Director for Concept Schools. She began her marketing career in advertising at Leo Burnett, later transitioning to marketing roles in consumer-packaged goods for companies such as ConAgra Foods, The Jel Sert Company, and Kellogg’s. Her digital marketing background includes serving as Vice President of Marketing for The Boyd Group/Gerber Collision & Glass, and as a Marketing Consultant for The Kombrink Team, a high-volume real estate group. Susie holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. She recently earned her second master’s degree from Northern Illinois University’s Digital Marketing Program and was a recipient of the program’s Rising Star Scholarship Award. Susie lives with her husband in St. Charles, IL.  She volunteers as a mentor for Fox Valley Robotics and serves on the board of Cal’s Angels, which funds pediatric cancer research.

 
Workshop Description:

As part of the FLI College Program, Future Institute hosted an insightful workshop titled "Managing Your Online Brand," presented by Susie Frausto, Director of Marketing at Concept Schools. The session emphasized the critical role a personal brand plays in today’s digital landscape, highlighting that 73% of hiring managers now use social media to evaluate applicants. Throughout the presentation, participants explored practical strategies for auditing their online presence, such as "Googling" themselves to manage public perceptions. Ms. Frausto shared essential professional tips, including maintaining separate personal and professional accounts and adhering to the "grandma test" before posting content. A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to building a robust professional presence on LinkedIn, with detailed guidance on optimizing profile elements like headlines, customized URLs, and showcasing relevant experience to stand out to recruiters. This workshop equipped FLI College participants with the vital tools necessary to curate a professional digital identity as they prepare for future career opportunities.
