Hey, my name is Semisola Ayorinde, I am in my sophomore year of college right now and I am majoring in Exercise Science. I want to speak on a couple of things that are currently roaming through my head around this time of sophomore year in college.

The first thing is my involvement in my Major outside of just the classes that I have. I am currently working on completing the Observation Hours that are required for my major, and I also have plans for this summer, to work in hospitals, and to also shadow a Physical therapist. I want to make sure that I do all I can to verify that the path that I choose is definitely for me. I feel like freshmen year was really the year for me to figure out what major best fits me because I was originally a pre-med major, then I was a Biochem Premed major then I had switched to a biology pre-med major, I ended up switching to just Biology Major, and then I had finally switched to an Exercise Science major. Looking back at it all now I am so happy that I switched my major to Exercise Science, that has to be one of the best decisions that I have ever made. So now that I am at the end of my sophomore year, I am just trying to make sure that the PT route is for me.

The second thing that is currently roaming around this time of sophomore year in college is My involvement in things outside of my major. I Do wish that I had started earlier but it’s better now than never. I want to get involved in at least 3 things outside of my major. I am currently running for Secretary of the African Student Association here at Ball State University, wish me luck. I also want to apply for some big scholarships here at ball state, I hope that everything ends up working out for me. Something that I and my roommate are working on right now is a fashion page on Instagram for the best-dressed people on campus, and we are trying to build the page so that when senior year comes, we can have a fashion show for students that are the best dressed, so hopefully, that works out. I and a couple of my friends also are trying to make an official dance team for the AFRICAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION here at Ball State University, I hope it all works out.

The third thing that Is currently roaming my mind right now is trying to get a strong GPA because freshman year was so rough for me since I was having a hard time deciding on what major I want to pick, I was really stressed out and my GPA ended up being so low for freshman year. I really need to work harder on my GPA and try my hardest to get at least a 3.6 GPA and that is going to take a lot of hard work considering that I didn’t do that good freshman year. Overall, I still have a lot of things that I want to get done. I hope that everything works out for me, and this summer is going to be such a busy summer for me, so wish me luck.
