CMSA Career Symposium

Sponsored by Republic Bank, Future Institute arranged a career symposium at Chicago Math and Science Academy in the morning of November 9 for the senior students. The sessions were as follows:

  • PLENARY SESSIONS:
    • Career Panel Discussion – Moderated by Sean Pottow
    • Career Presenter Testimonials – Each presenter shared a 10-minute personal story to motivate students and highlight some key aspects of the challenges they experienced and how they made it through their high school and college years.
  • BREAKOUT SESSIONS
    • Session A: Why are Resumes important and how can you build a good resume?
      • By Sean Pottow, Senior Compliance Analyst, Republic Bank
        In this session, students will learn what to include in their resume, the ideal length of a resume and will be able to ask any questions relating to resumes.
    • Session B: Setting Financial Goals
      • By Marijana Herljevic, SVP/Market Leader, Republic Bank
        This session will teach students how to set financial goals for a better future during and after college.
    • Session C: Mock Interviews – A real time challenge
      • By Robert Taylor, VP/Branch Sales Manager, Republic Bank
        In this session, students will practice their interview skills in real-time, so they can receive feedback and be prepared for an actual job interview.
    • Session D: The Importance of Credit
      • By Mia Rhee, VP/Branch Sales Manager – Lincolnwood, Republic Bank
        Students will learn how to build and manage their credit for a well-informed financial future.
