The real test of a high school education is how it plays out afterward. CAN graduates are successful, hardworking, and are making contributions in diverse fields. Here are just a few of the many paths taken by Concept Alumni.

Brady Sayre

Brady Sayre is an Alumnus of Horizon Science Academy Columbus High School, Class of 2015. Brady is currently a student at The Ohio State University.

Briefly, describe your career path.
As of now, I plan on staying out my 4 years in Ohio State University and then finding an occupation in my field. I plan on studying in the humanities area, but I still have an open mind about different majors.
What are you passionate about in your work/school?
In school, I am really into the diversity and wide spectrum of my peers. I plan on joining maybe some diversity clubs as well.
Where is your career headed?
Careerwise, I believe I’m going okay, but I have to make sure there is a demand for my line of education when the time comes. I also plan on doing a work study program while I’m enrolled in OSU, so I can get some extra money for my financial needs as well.
How has your Concept Schools experience helped shape your success?
I attended Concept Schools for 5 years and throughout that time, I have really improved in my education, my self-esteem, and my overall success as a student. If it were not for Concept Schools, I honestly believe I would have graduated from a regular low-level education school and found a low-paying job to try to support myself as best as I could without going to college.

How are you a game changer? Or, how are you making a positive impact in your community?
In my community, I’m renowned for helping my fellow peers and staying involved as well. I like to help out with a variety of events, and I also try to be a good role model for the youth so they don’t turn out as a I’ve seen many others turn out.
What is the most amazing or interesting thing that’s happened to you since graduating?
I believe the most interesting thing that has happened to me since graduating would probably have to be the transfer from high school to a college environment. It’s a really different experience, and I think that is it shaping me to become and even better example of a Concept student.
Your favorite Concept Schools memory.
I’ve had tons of experiences and tons of laughs at Concept Schools. I remember participating in the judging of the Concept Science Fair in our middle school branch. I remember pouring ice water on our staff to raise awareness of ALS, and I even remember playing with reptiles at our school’s Science Night. But, I believe my best memory at Concept Schools would have to be how open-armed, nice, and caring certain members of the staff were to me when I was going through hard times.
How do you support and participate in the Concept Alumni Network?
I’m currently employed by my former high school as an assistant to the alumni counselor. I help him with various jobs anywhere from calling to check up on alumni students to reaching out in my university to the students who also came from our high school.
